Prior to sending an email to Users, it is strongly recommended that you send yourself and other administrators a test email to make sure you are happy with the final product and conduct one last review.
When sending a test email, the information displayed from Personalization Tokens will depend on the email addresses test emails are being sent to. If the email address receiving a test email is associated with a User Account that is part of the challenge for the designated email, the recipient will see their own information pulled for the Personalization Tokens. If the recipient is not part of the challenge for the designated email, the test email will pull information from a User that is part of the challenge.
If you do not see information being pulled for a Personalization Token, there is an issue that needs to be resolved prior to send the email. In most situations, the Personalization Token was not inserted in the email correctly.
There must be at least one User Account in the challenge in order to send a test email. To send a test email, follow the steps below.
- Select Send Test Email(s) at the bottom of the New Email or Edit Email pages.
- Enter the email address(es) of the recipient(s) you want the test email to be sent to. To send a test email to multiple recipients, enter the email of each recipient on a different line.
- Select Send.
- Check your inbox for the test email. It will be coming from the From Name and From Email designated in the email being tested.
Once the email is finalized, you will be ready to schedule it to be sent.
